Orthodontics

Dr Lesley Short has taught Orthodontics to dental professionals at the University of Western Ontario who study for an additional 3 years after becoming dentists in order to become well-informed, authorised orthodontists.

Due to Dr Short’s extensive experience in lecturing, teaching and practicing orthodontics for more than 20 years, she is completely equipped with knowledge and skill to provide the most preeminent treatment options there are today. Utilising various new and improved inconspicuous techniques including invisible aligners and brackets or lingual brackets (on the tongue side of the teeth) Dr Short is leading the way in Orthodontics here in Australia.

Additionally there are new Temporary Anchorage Devices (TAD’s) or mini implants that were not available until recently that facilitate tooth movement without the need for old-fashioned headgear, elastics and in some cases surgery.

Dr Short has also learnt a number of techniques that can shorten the treatment time by 50% to 66% – that is 8 – 12 months instead of 24 months for regular treatment with the same results.
